You still need at least 65 points in total, a positive skills assessment in an eligible occupation, at least Competent English, and to be under 45 when invited.
How Victoria selects 190 applicants
For 2026-27 Victoria ranks every Registration of Interest with the Victorian Points Test, a score out of 950. Age, English and earnings from skilled work in Victoria carry the most weight. There is no pass mark, and invitations go to the highest totals in each round, with separate selection inside the priority industries of healthcare, social assistance, education and construction.
